Discover natural betaine for skin and hair care: GENENCARE® OSMS BA is a sustainably sourced bioactive extracted from a side stream of sugar production. Betaine is a natural osmolyte, part of the NMF, which helps balance water in skin and within the formulation, to provide moisturization, protection and sensory benefits. In haircare, it provides protection benefits.

A moisturizing osmolyte for water free formulas, it helps strengthen the skin barrier and provides long term skin moisturization and sensory benefits. This ingredient is specially developed to be used in anhydrous (waterless) formulations such as solid cosmetics, dry shampoo, powder blends and make up.

When the skin is dry, keratinocytes respond by increasing production of osmolyte transporters on their cell membrane, which results in increased uptake of osmolytes.
